A real world scavenger hunt that utilised AR at the point of sale. The concept was simple; locate and scan QR codes hidden on posters and in store decals to unlock 3D characters from the game.We created a mobile microsite to house the experience, using the latest in WebGL rendering.
This allowed users to unlock and explore characters in 3D, before being able to place them in their world using web AR.
The site and AR components were developed to work seamlessly across all mobile devices.
Despite an incredibly challenging period for retail, as countries around the world moved into a second lock down, the QR scavenger hunt saw almost 10k scans in targeted stores in its first week, leading to over 400k unlocks online across 77 countries.
